This is the place where you’ll always find the newest version of my RobotC pong game. You can download it here
Please find an overview of the game’s total functions below, with guides on the setup, how to play the game and how it gets harder and harder after time.
Set-up:
- There’s no need to build a complex robot; just attach a motor to port A (make sure the orange part faces towards you and the round part is up, and possibly attach a wheel) and you’re ready to go.
- Make sure you’re ready; the game starts right after the program starts.
Playing the game:
- You can move the bat up and down by turning the (wheel attached to the) motor.
- Turn as much as you want; the bat won’t leave the playing field.
- When the ball comes towards the left, make sure your bat is there to stop it, or you’ll miss, and lose the game.
- If, for example, you need to scratch your ear or get a drink, you can pause the game by pressing the orange button; to continue, hold the orange button until the display tells you to let go.
Points and levels
- You gain one point each time you successfully deflect the ball.
- You will improve one level each time you reach a score that’s 150% of the amount of points you had when you last passed a level.
- Each level is a little bit more difficult than the last.
What the game does to give you a hard time
Every time you gain a level, the game is paused for a sec and one of the following things will happen:
- The ball increases speed, giving you less time to react to its position
- Your bat will decrease size, making it harder for you to deflect the ball
- Your bat becomes slower; it takes more motor rotations to move it up and down
